Anxiety is the body’s heightened response to perceived stress or threat. It may appear as excessive worry, restlessness, or physical symptoms like tension and racing thoughts. When persistent or disproportionate, it becomes a disorder, but it is also one of the most treatable mental health conditions through therapy, coping strategies, and—when appropriate—medication.
